Australia has expanded its partnership with the United States to develop the Next Generation Jammer system for the EA-18G Growler. This unique, high-end capability can disrupt, deceive or deny a broad range of military electronic systems, including radars and communications. Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC said jammer systems used advanced electronic jamming technology to support the Growler aircraft.

The South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has signed a 250 billion-won ($200 million) contract with Hanwha Defense Co. to buy the 30-mm anti-aircraft gun wheeled vehicle system (AAGW) for the country’s military. The newly developed AAGW will replace the Vulcan air defence artillery starting next year, Yonhap reported quoting DAPA officials.

Lockheed Martin Australia has completed its preliminary design review (PDR) for a new simulator that allows RAAF pilots to virtually train alongside the crews of tanks and warships more regularly. Currently, limited tech means these personal can only perform joint training around 10 times a year, but the new JP 9711 Phase 1 system will up that number to around 200 when fully operational in 2025.

Lockheed Martin Australia successfully completed the mission-critical Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for Defence’s JP9711-1 Core Simulation Capability last month despite the global challenges of COVID-19. The PDR lays the foundational path forward for establishing the baseline software architecture for the ADF's largest, networked training system that links virtual and constructive simulation to live training events.
