German Army will receive new ground robots for explosive landmines ...In a news release Tuesday, German weapons maker Rheinmetall said Germany’s armed forces awarded a multi-year production deal for supply four Route Clearance Systems. “The order is worth a figure in the lower two-digit million-euro range,” it said in a statement. “Signed in December 2019, the contract is set to run for approximately four years.

Construction is now complete on Rheinmetall Defence Australia’s faciltiy in Queensland where it will conduct military vehicle manufacturing, premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced on Monday. The completion of the $170 million Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) for Rheinmetall is a major construction milestone, and the 30,000 square metre facility is now ready for fit-out according to Palaszczuk.

Rheinmetall has secured a €110m contract from Bundeswehr, the German armed forces, to carry out measures to extend the service life of Marder infantry fighting vehicle. The drivetrain of 71 Marder 1A5 vehicles will be replaced to maintain the tracked vehicle’s operational readiness. Rheinmetall will deliver a total of 78 conversion kits, as well as vehicle tool kits and specialised tools to Bundeswehr from 2020 to 2023.

Rheinmetall to start producing 1000 trucks for german armyAt the end of December 2019, the German Bundeswehr ordered a thousand logistic vehicles from Rheinmetall worth €382 million, including valued added tax. The order is the third call-off from a framework contract signed in July 2017 encompassing over 2,200 state-of-the-art military trucks, which the Bundeswehr is purchasing as part of its “Unprotected Transport Vehicles” project.

The total current value of the order is approximately €2.6 billion (£2.3 billion). The contract has been awarded to Artec via the European procurement agency Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR).
