Boeing delivers first MH-47G Block II Chinook helicopter to Special Ops -  UPI.com Even without the appropriately spaced seats in an outdoor tent and guests wearing masks, Tuesday marked a new day for Boeing's Delaware County plant with the herald of the MH-47G Block II Chinook. Created for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, the MH-47G Block II is the first production model for any service and represents the next generation of the aircraft that first rolled off the manufacturing line in 1962.

 

"Today is obviously a landmark day in the history of the Ridley Park Boeing site," U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-5 of Swarthmore, said. "This is a remarkable day for our region, for our country, for Delaware County ... I'm also looking forward to the delivery of the first 465 CH-47G Block II aircraft to the U.S. Army, an effort that every member of Congress here today and some who are not able to be with us today is fighting to make a reality."..MORE
