LAND 400 Phase III: Australian Army Shortlist Rheinmetall Defence and  Hanwha Defense – Global Defense Corp   Rheinmetall has revealed the first Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) for the Australian Army’s A$18.1bn Land 400 Phase 3 programme. The Lynx IFV is one of three vehicles designed and produced to adhere to the programme’s requirements. Each of the vehicles will take part in the test and evaluation trials under the Risk Mitigation Activity (RMA). The assessment will start this month and take place for a period of 12 months.

 

The Land 400 Phase 3 programme seeks to provide the Australian Army with a new vehicle that can conduct close combat operations and defeat enemies in dangerous scenarios.

Based on the success of the trials, the fleet will be produced in the Rheinmetall’s new Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Queensland.
