New electronic warfare centre to open - Australian Defence MagazineThe Australian Department of Defence (DoD) has formed a strategic partnership with Flinders University and a South Australia-based defence industry firm DEWC T&E. The partners have set up a Professional Electronic Warfare Training, Education and Research (PEWTER) memorandum of understanding. Over the next five years, the DoD and the university would co-finance a Defence Science Partnership (DSP) valued at $5m.

 

The funding will be used to establish a Centre of Expertise for electronic warfare (EW). Defence scientist professor Sam Drake has been selected as the inaugural Flinders University Academic Chair of Electromagnetic Systems and Security.
