Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a major area of research for the US defence sector. The Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) is the focal point for carrying it out. The JAIC was established in 2018 by the DoD to seize upon the transformative potential of AI technology for the benefit of America’s national security.
On September 15 and 16, 2020, the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center of the US Department of Defense hosted the first ever Artificial Intelligence Partnership for Defence with military and defence delegations from 13 nations- Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Israel, Japan, Norway, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
