Bayswater, Australia, 21 August 2020. RUAG Australia received the first contracts awarded by the US Navy under the AUSMIN Defence Acquisition Committee (ADAC) - a collaboration between the US and Australian Departments of Defence. RUAG Australia is the first Australian company to receive an award under the ADAC initiative covering the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of selected components for the F/A-18 Hornet fleet.

KBR has signed an agreement with Arlington Capital Partners to acquire Centauri, LLC, a leading independent provider of high-end space, directed energy and other advanced technology solutions. The transaction, which is expected to close in fourth-quarter 2020, is valued at $880 million (with $300 million cash and $500 million debt). Shares of KBR climbed 8.6% on Aug 19, following the news.

It's known that pilots that fly the AC-130W Stinger II gunship wear the Scorpion Helmet Mounted Display, but we haven't seen much imagery showing it in use. Now, thanks to photos released from exercise Gulf Sentry, ... we have a great shot of a pilot of the gunship not just wearing Scorpion, but the improved variant of the helmet-mounted display, known as HObIT, or Hybrid Optical-based Inertial Tracker.

General Electric Aviation will supply T700 turboshaft engines for Morocco’s 24 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, which it ordered in June this year. Morocco will acquire 48 T700—701D engines and two spares as part of the contract, General Electric said this week. The T700/CT7 family of turboshaft and turboprop engines power 15 types of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft with more than 130 customers in more than 50 countries.

Lynas Corporation has overcome a political hurdle in the United States to secure a contract for a rare earth facility in Texas. This is key to Lynas’ 2025 growth plan as the facility will be the only source of separated heavy rare earths outside China. Lynas will design and operate the separation facility, which will process heavy rare earths material sourced from its Mt Weld mine in Western Australia.

The French Army has taken delivery of another batch of Griffon multi-role armored vehicles, the French Ministry of Defense announced. The new generation of combat vehicles is based on a 6×6 commercial all-terrain truck chassis and being acquired by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) to replace the ageing fleet of Véhicule de l’Avant Blindé (VAB) 4×4 armoured personnel carriers.
