Weapons Sector Research Framework Qinetiq, which provides test, evaluation and training support services to the UK MOD through a Long Term Partnering Agreement, has signed a five year framework contract with the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), budgeted to be worth £300 million over that period. Qinetiq has five major facilities in the UK employing a total of around 6,000 people, including at Malvern, Farnborough and Boscombe Down, and is one of the UK’s largest research and technology organisations.

 

The contract, which includes key partners MBDA and Thales, is to lead the Weapons Sector Research Framework (WSRF). The framework will enable Dstl, and more than 70 industry and academic suppliers, to develop and exploit technology for the benefit of UK Armed Forces and HM Government.
