How the Tempest could look Aerospace companies across the UK have signed up to a pledge of closer co-operative working on the BAE Systems-led Tempest project. The deal is being seen as a big step forward in partnerships to work on future aircraft concepts. BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Leonardo UK, MBDA UK and the Ministry of Defence have been looking at ideas for a 6th generation combat aircraft for some time and a mock up of the Tempest has been created at Warton.

The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems an initial order under its Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Capability Drop 2 Program. The multiple award, Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contract is worth up to $823 million, and provides enhanced intelligence to see and better understand threats and other relevant aspects of the operational environment.

The new systems use two-color infrared sensors and high-speed processors to detect threatsThe US Army has awarded BAE Systems US$179 million to produce the next-generation Missile Warning System (MWS) to protect the Army's rotorcraft. Part of the service's Limited Interim Missile Warning System (LIMWS) Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) program, the MWS is designed to improve threat detection and survivability in contested environments.

BAE Systems is offering its Beowulf platform as a production-ready vehicle capable of operating in arctic environments and in all types of terrain for the movement of personnel and cargo under the most remote and harshest conditions.

BAE Systems recently received $179 million in total awards from the Army as part of the Limited Interim Missile Warning System Quick Reaction Capability program. This award includes orders for the first two production lots and funding to enable fielding of the next-generation Missile Warning System. The MWS provides crews with advanced threat detection capabilities, improving survivability and mission effectiveness in contested environments.

The new facility at BAE Systems’ site in Warton, Lancashire, is the result of a multi-million pound investment and collaboration with more than 40 blue chip and SME companies along with academic institutions.

Rohde & Schwarz upgrades RAAF Air-Ground-Air voice link | Rohde ...Rohde & Schwarz (Australia) has signed a contract with BAE Systems to provide software defined radios, back up communications systems and monitoring for Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) air traffic control (ATC). This contract forms part of Project AIR 5431 Phase 3, which will see the current fixed military air traffic management and control systems at 12 locations replaced with a new harmonised system.
