BAE Systems received a $103.6 million fixed-price contract to prepare for and accomplish repair and alteration requirements for USS Preble during its scheduled depot maintenance period, the Department of Defense announced Thursday. The contract funds maintenance, modernization and repair of the Preble, which returned to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in June.

In a major development that could be very beneficial for the South African Air Force (SAAF), UK-based global major aerospace and defence group BAE Systems (BAES) announced on Monday that, in a joint project with Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), it had massively extended the safe flying life for late-generation Hawk lead-in fighter-trainers.

BAE Systems' ship repair business in Jacksonville, Fla., has secured a potential $211.6M contract to update, repair and maintain two Arleigh Burke-class destroyer ships for the U.S. Navy. The projects cover an extended dry-docking selected restricted availability for USS Carney and depot-level modernization of USS Winston Churchill, the Department of Defense said Friday.

According to information released by the Australian Minister for Defence Industry, Hon Melissa Price on August 7, 2020, Australia has awarded $7.7 million contract with BAE Systems Australia to convert 16 M113AS4 Armoured Personnel Carriers into Optionally Crewed Combat Vehicles (OCCVs), increasing the OCCV fleet available to 20 vehicles and support experimentation over two years.

A Delta company was recently awarded major contracts to supply a component for one of the world's most highly advanced fighter jets. Avcorp Industries, which manufactures integrated composite and metallic aircraft structures at its Tilbury operation, announced it has been awarded contracts by BAE Systems for the assembly of the F-35 Carrier Variant (CV) Outboard Wing.

BAE Systems Australia has welcomed an additional two year, AU$30 million contract extension to ongoing sustainment of the Collins Class periscopes. The original five-year contract began in 2015 and encompasses engineering, program management, supply support and highly specialised maintenance services. During this two year extension period, BAE Systems will continue to maintain Search and Attack periscopes and undertake the necessary updates to the periscope systems.

U.K. shipbuilder BAE Systems said it has awarded a further five contracts to suppliers worth more than £100 million ($129 million), as progress on the Type 26 frigate program continues apace at the company’s shipyards in Glasgow.More than £1 billion ($1.29 billion) has been invested across the program’s supply chain to date, with more than 100 suppliers globally.

Test and measurement experts at BAE Systems will upgrade, repair, and maintain military radars, telemetry and optical range mission systems, flight termination systems, data acquisition systems, and Global Positioning Systems under terms of a $495.5 million six-year contract announced Thursday. Officials of the U.S. Air Force 45th Contracting Squadron at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., are asking the BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services segment in Rockville, Md., to undertake the Instrumentation Range Support Program (IRSP).
