Defcon Tech partners with Rheinmetall to support LAND 400 Phase 3 - Defence  ConnectCanberra-based Defcon Technologies Group is proud to have been selected to supply, integrate and support the latest generation of INVISIO Combat Hearing Protection technology to Rheinmetall Defence Australia as part of the LYNX IFV Intercom System in their bid for Army’s LAND 400 Phase 3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle Program.

Rheinmetall and Galvion Provide New Combat Helmets to German Military -  MilitaryLeak Rheinmetall and its strategic partner, the North-American helmet maker Galvion, have won an order to supply the German Bundeswehr with an advanced combat helmet. Awarded in November 2020, the framework contract encompasses the delivery of up to 20,000 helmets, specifically the “Combat Helmet, Special Forces, Heavy”. A first call-off of 5,000 helmets came in November 2020.

Picture: Department of Defence The tender process for the Australian Army's new fleet of combat reconnaissance vehicles totalling nearly $4.3 billion was only "partly effective", a new Auditor-General report has found. The Auditor-General's report into a 2018 Department of Defence tender, released Thursday, highlighted some flaws in the process eventually awarded to contractor Rheinmetall in a $4.28 billion deal.

Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) announced on Tuesday that it was awarded an £860 million ($1.1 billion) subcontract for the British Ministry of Defense’s Mechanised Infantry Vehicle program. The subcontract, worth about £860 million, marks a significant milestone for the program, following the £2.3 billion ($3.8 billion) MIV contract awarded to ARTEC, the Rheinmetall and KMW consortium in December 2019.

LAND 400 Phase III: Australian Army Shortlist Rheinmetall Defence and  Hanwha Defense – Global Defense Corp   Rheinmetall has revealed the first Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) for the Australian Army’s A$18.1bn Land 400 Phase 3 programme. The Lynx IFV is one of three vehicles designed and produced to adhere to the programme’s requirements. Each of the vehicles will take part in the test and evaluation trials under the Risk Mitigation Activity (RMA). The assessment will start this month and take place for a period of 12 months.

kf41 lynx The U.S. Army’s next-generation infantry fighting vehicle could feature German DNA. German defense contractor Rheinmetall is teaming up with American defense contractor Raytheon to offer the company’s KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle to the U.S. Army. The Army is looking to replace its thousands of M2 Bradley fighting vehicles with a newer design that is not only better in every way, but also has the ability to be remotely controlled on the battlefield.

The German Army is accelerating the updating of its truck fleet. The European Security & Defence website said it has learned that Rheinmetall will deliver 150 HX2 trucks in the 5-tonne payload class with a 6×6 chassis, and 850 HX2 trucks in the 15-tonne payload class with an 8×8 chassis. The trucks are said to be scheduled to be delivered under a €398 million contract in 2021 and 2022.

Rheinmetall to export Australian turrets to Hungary - Australian Defence  Magazine Rheinmetall is pleased to announce an export order in excess of $150 million dollars from Australia to the Hungarian Armed Forces to supply digital Lance turrets to be designed and manufactured at the company’s new Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in South East Queensland. The prime minister of Australia, the Hon. Scott Morrison MP, recognised the order on 11 October, lauding Rheinmetall’s first export contract from Australia.

Queensland election: Scott Morrison joins the LNP campaign The Morrison Government has officially opened Rheinmetall Defence Australia’s Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Queensland, which will see hundreds of long-term jobs created for Queensland workers. Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the new defence industry facility in Redbank is part of the Economic Recovery Plan to create jobs as the nation recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
