Hensoldt, Rheinmetall and Diehl bid for future Germany air defence systemRheinmetall Electronics, Diehl Defence and Hensoldt Sensors have teamed up to bid for the future German short-range and very short-range air defence system, known as the ‘LVS NNbS’.The partners have signed a joint agreement to form a special collaboration known as Arbeitsgemeinschaft (ARGE). The tender will be submitted under the ARGE NNbS framework.

 

Through this collaboration, the three companies aim to provide a ‘national and low-risk solution’ that can be easily available with the help of ‘commercially available systems and system components’.

The NNbS project seeks to fill a capability gap in protecting ground troops and other assets against ‘short and very short-range aerial threats’ during deployed operations.
